p. བཅོལ།
Biblical: to entrust or commit something to someone: དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཡ་ཧུ་ད་པར་བཅོལ་བ་ཡིན། the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God (Rom. 3:2), ཕྲིན་བཟང་བཅོལ་བ། entrusted with the gospel (1 Thes. 2:4), ཁྱོད་ལ་བཏད་པའི་བཅོལ་མ་བཟང་པོ། the good deposit that was entrusted to you (2 Tim. 1:14), མཛད་པ་པོ་ལ་བཅོལ་ཅིག trust the Creator (1 Pet. 4:19).
Buddhist: འཆོལ་བ། to trust others, or to entrust something to their care: 1) ཆོས་སྲུང་མོ་ལ་འཆོལ་བ། to entrust the Bst. doctrines to the protection of the guardian spirits སྲུང་མོ། (KTM); 2) སྐྱབས་འཆོལ་བ། to entrust oneself to an object of refuge [e.g. the Buddha] (KTM); 3) ཅ་ལག་འཆོལ་བ། to give something into someone else's care (KTM).
Proverbs: 1) གསེར་དངུལ་མི་ལ་བཅོལ་དགོས་བྱུང་ཡང་ཆོལ། བཅོལ་པོ་བརླག་ཀྱང་བཙལ་ནས་རྙེད་པ་རེད། སྙིང་གཏམ་མི་ལ་བཅོལ་བཅོལ་མང་དྲགས་ན། ལག་མགོ་ཁ་ལ་བཅུག་ནས་སྡོད་དགོས་ཡོང་། if necessary, you can entrust your gold and silver to others; even if the keeper is gone, you may find your valuables. But if you trust others too much with your secrets, you may regret it (KPU 18); 2) སྤྱང་ཀི་བཟང་ཡང་ལུག་རྫིས་ཉན་མདོག་མེད། even if a wolf is good, the shepherd is unlikely to listen (TQP 136).
p. བྱས། f. བྱ། imp. བྱོས།
Biblical: 1) trust: གཏམ་བདེན་ཞིང་ཡིད་ཆེས་འོས་པའོ། a [true and] trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (1 Tim. 4:9); 2) faith: དེ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཡིད་ཆེས་ལ་གཟིགས་ནས། when [Jesus] saw their faith (Lk. 5:20); 3) to rely on: ང་ཚོར་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་བྱམས་པ་ཤེས་ཤིང་ཡིད་ཆེས་སོ། we know and rely on the love God has for us (1 Jn. 4:16); 4) believe: ངས་ཟེར་ན་ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་ཡིད་མི་ཆེས། if I tell you, you will not believe me (Lk. 22:67).

Biblical: trustworthy: བཀའ་འདི་བསླུ་མེད་བདེན་པ་ལགས། these words are trustworthy and true (Rev. 21:5).
Buddhist: Chenresi སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས། and objects of refuge དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ། are described as བསླུ་བ་མེད་པ། or trustworthy (KTM). See also tempt.
p. བློ་བཏད། [lit. mind + commit, bestow]
Biblical: to trust, rely on: དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་བློ་བཏད། he trusts in God (Mt. 27:43).
Buddhist: 1) to trust: གྲོགས་པོ་དེ་ལ་བློ་གཏོད་པར་འོས། it is suitable to rely on a friend (KTM), དམ་ཚིག་གཙང་མའི་མི་ལ་བློ་གཏད་བཅོལ། trust those who follow their commitments (KPU 11), བློ་གཏད་བཅོལ་མི་རྣམས་ཚོ་མཐའ་ནས་སྐྱོངས། with those who trust you, have lasting relationships (KPU 12); 2) also, to be completely given over to an object of trust; to trust completely and unreservedly (KTM).

Biblical: trust, confidence, assurance: ཐུགས་རྗེའི་སྒོ་ནས་གཙོ་བོས་བློ་གདེང་མཛད་པའི་མི། one who by the Lord's mercy is [made] trustworthy (1 Cor. 7:25).
Buddhist: བློ་གདེང་། suggests a person who is confident and unworried because of complete trust in another (KTM).
p. བྱས། f. བྱ། imp. བྱོས།
Biblical: to have faith in, believe, or trust: འོད་ལ་དད་པ་བྱོས་ཤིག put your trust in the light (Jn. 12:36), དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་དད། trust in God (Jn. 14:1), ཁོང་ལ་དད་རྣམས་སྐྱེངས་པར་མི་འགྱུར། the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame (Rom. 9:33).
