1. བཀུར་​སྟི།

   Biblical: respect, homage: ལུང་​སྟོན་​པ་​ལ་​རང་​ཡུལ་​དུ་​བཀུར་​སྟི་​མི་​འབྱུང་​། a prophet has no honor in his own country (Jn. 4:44), རྟག་​པའི་​དཔལ་​དང་​བཀུར་​སྟི་​འཚོལ་​མཁན། the one who persists in seeking glory and honor (Rom. 2:7), དམ་​པ་​དང་​བཀུར་​སྟི་​དང་​ལྡན་​པར། holy and honorable (1 Thes. 4:4), ཁྱེད་​ཚོ་​ལ་​བཀུར་​སྟི་​དང་​། ང་​ཚོར་​སྨད་​པ་​ཐོབ་​བོ། you receive honor, we are dishonored (1 Cor. 4:10).

   Buddhist: བཀུར་​སྟི། is respect or honor, especially that given to the monk body. Ideally བཀུར་​སྟི། is offered through the "three doors" of body ལུས། speech ངག and mind ཡིད། by prostrations, praise, and faith or trust (KTM). མཆོད་​པ་​དང་​བཀུར་​སྟི་​བཟང་​པོ་​མཛད། [King Khri Ral] offered homage and worship well (TRC 114), པན་​ཆེན་​རིན་​པོ་​ཆེ་​མཆོག་​ལ་​བཀུར་​སྟི་​རྩེ་​གཅིག་​ཏུ་​བྱེད་​པ། the esteem and love offered to the Panchen Lama (MHP 9-10).

2. བཀུར་​སྟི་​བྱེད།

   Biblical: to show honor to someone: རང་​གི་​ཕ་​མ་​ལ་​བཀུར་​སྟི་​བྱོས་​ཤིག honor your father and mother (Mt. 15:4), ང་​ལ་​ཞབས་​ཏོག་​བྱེད་​པ་​དེ་​ལ། ཡབ་​ཀྱི་​བཀུར་​སྟི་​མཛད་​འོང་​། my Father will honor the one who serves me (Jn. 12:26).

3. བཀུར་​བ།

   Biblical: to show honor or reverence to someone: སྡེ་​འདིས་​ཁ་​ནས་​ང་​བཀུར། these people honor me with their lips (Mt. 15:8), ཐམས་​ཅད་​ཀྱིས་​བཀུར་​བའི་​ཕ་​རུ་​ཤི་​པ། a Pharisee who was honored by all the people (Acts 5:34), ཡན་​ལག་​གཅིག་​ལ་​བཀུར་​ན། if one part is honored (1 Cor. 12:26).

4. སྟི་​སྟང་​།

   Biblical: reverence, respect, honor: མགྲོན་​པོ་​ཐམས་​ཅད་​ཀྱི་​མདུན་​དུ་​སྟི་​སྟང་​འབྱུང་​འོང་​། you will be honored in the presence of all your friends (Lk. 14:10), སྟི་​སྟང་​དང་​བསྟོད་​པ། honor and praise (1 Tim. 1:17), བཟའ་​མི་​བྱེད་​པ་​ནི་​ཀུན་​ནང་​སྟི་​སྟང་​འོས་​པར་​རྩི། marriage should be accounted worthy of honor by all (Heb. 13:4).

5. སྟི་​སྟང་​བྱེད།

   Biblical: to show honor: གཅིག་​གིས་​གཅིག་​ལ་​སྟི་​སྟང་​བྱོས་​ཤིག honor one another (Rom. 12:10).

6. ཞེ་​ས།

   Biblical: reverence, respect: དཀོན་​མཆོག་​ཡབ་​ཀྱི་​ཕྱོགས་​ནས་​ཁོང་​ལ་​ཞེ་​ས་​དང་​དཔལ་​བྱུང་​དུས་​སུ། he received honor and glory from God (2 Pet. 1:17), ཞེ་​ས་​དང་​། དཔལ་​དང་​། བསྟོད་​པ་​འབུལ་​བར་​འོས་​པ་​ལགས་​སོ། worthy to receive honor and glory and praise (Rev. 5:12).

   Buddhist: 1) ཞེ་​ས། respect which is given to others in general; reverence, courtesy, or politeness (KTM); 2) honorific speech.

7. ཞེ་​ས་​བྱེད།

   Biblical: to show honor or respect to: ཞེ་​ས་​བྱེད་​འོས་​པ་​ལ་​ཞེ་​ས་​བྱོས་​ཤིག if honor is due, show honor (Rom. 13:7), འདི་​འདྲ་​བའི་​སྐྱེས་​བུར་​ཞེ་​ས་​བྱོས་​ཤིག honor men like him (Phil. 2:29,30).

8. རྩིས།

   [lit. to account]

   Biblical: estimation, esteem, value, respect: ལུང་​སྟོན་​པ་​ལ་​རང་​ཡུལ་​དང་​རང་​ཁྱིམ་​ན་​མ་​གཏོགས་​པར་​གར་​ཡང་​རྩིས་​མེད་​མི་​འབྱུང་​། only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor (Mt. 13:57), ང་​ཚོས་​སྣང་​ཆུང་​རྩི་​བའི་​ཡན་​ལག་​ལ་​ལྷག་​པར་​རྩི་​སྟེ། the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor (1 Cor. 12:23).

9. མཆོད་​པ།

   Biblical: to honor, worship, revere, or respect: ཡབ་​ལ་​མཆོད་​པ་​ལྟར་​ཐམས་​ཅད་​ཀྱིས་​སྲས་​ལ་​མཆོད་​པའི་​ཕྱིར། that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father (Jn. 5:22,23), གླང་​བུ་​ཞིག་​གི་​སྐུ་​འདྲ་​བཟོས་​ནས། དེ་​ལ་​མཆོད་​པ་​ཕུལ། making an idol of a calf, they honored [or worshiped] it (Acts 7:41).
