  1. རྣམ་​དག་​འགྱུར་​བ།

    p. གྱུར། [lit. very pure, clean]

    Biblical: 1) to become very pure or morally clean; used by extension in the NT to mean becoming right with God, or being justified: ཨབ་​ར་​ཧམ་​ལས་​ཀྱི་​སྒོ་​ནས་​རྣམ་​དག་​ཏུ་​གྱུར་​པ་​ཡིན་​ན། if Abraham was justified by works (Rom. 4:2), བཀའ་​ཁྲིམས་​ཀྱི་​ཐབས་​ཀྱིས་​རྣམ་​དག་​འགྱུར་​བར་​འདོད་​པ་​ཁྱེད་​ཚོ། you who are trying to be justified by law (Gal. 5:4), དད་​པའི་​སྒོ་​ནས་​མི་​ནི་​རྣམ་​པར་​དག་​པར་​འགྱུར་​བ། a man is justified by faith (Rom. 3:28 SV); 2) རྣམ་​དག་​མཛད། to make pure, to make right with God, to justify: ཁོང་​གི་​སྐུ་​ཁྲག་​གིས་​རྣམ་​དག་​མཛད་​པས། we have now been justified by his blood (Rom. 5:9), དཀོན་​མཆོག་​ནི་​རྣམ་​པར་​དག་​པར་​མཛད་​མཁན། those whom God has justified (Rom. 8:33 SV)

    Cognates: མཆོད་​རྟེན་​རྣམ་​དག Namdag Stupa, where the Buddha cut off his hair before becoming an ascetic (SGN 8).

  2. ཐར་​བ།

    [lit. to save]

    Biblical: release from worldly existence; used by extension in the NT to mean saved, absolved from sin, or justified: ང་​ཚོ་​དད་​པའི་​སྒོ་​ནས་​ཐར་​ཞིང་​། we have been justified through faith (Rom. 5:1), བཀའ་​ཁྲིམས་​ཀྱི་​ཐབས་​ཀྱིས་​སུའང་​མི་​ཐར་​བ། through the law no one is justified (Gal. 3:11), དད་​པ་​དེ་​ཁོའི་​ཐར་​པའི་​རྒྱུར་​རྩིའོ། his faith is credited as righteousness (Rom. 4:5), ང་​ཚོ་​ཐར་​འཇུག་​པའི་​ཕྱིར་​ཁོང་​སྐུ་​གསོན་​པོར་​བསླངས་​པ་​ཡིན་​ནོ། for our justification, he was raised to life (Rom. 4:25), གནང་​སྦྱིན་​གྱི་​སྒོ་​ནས་​སྡིག་​པ་​མང་​པོར་​ཐར་​པ་​བྱུང་​། through the gift, many received justification (Rom. 5:16), ཐར་​བར་​མཛད་​མཁན་​དཀོན་​མཆོག་​ལགས་​པས། it is God who justifies (Rom. 8:33).

  3. དྲང་​པོ་​འགྱུར།

    p. གྱུར། [lit. honest, true + become]

    Biblical: made true, right, or honest; used by the NT to mean justified: ཁྱེད་​ཚོ་​གཙང་​བར་​ཡང་​གྱུར། དམ་​པར་​ཡང་​གྱུར། དྲང་​པོར་​ཡང་​གྱུར་​ཏོ། you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified (1 Cor. 6:11), བཀའ་​ཁྲིམས་​ཀྱི་​ལས་​ཀྱིས་​དྲང་​པོར་​མ་​འགྱུར། a man is not justified by observing the law (Gal. 2:16).
