  1. དད་​པ།

    Biblical: the state of believing or trusting in, faith: བདེན་​པ་​ཉིད་​ལ་​དད། belief in the truth (2 Thes. 2:13).

    Cognates: 1) མི་​དད་​པའི་​སེམས། unbelief: ངའི་​མི་​དད་​པའི་​སེམས་​ལ་​སྐྱབས་​མཛོད་​ཅིག help my unbelief (Mk. 9:24), ངས་​དད་​པ་​མེད་​པར་​མི་​ཤེས་​བཞིན་​དུ། acted in unbelief and ignorance (1 Tim. 1:13 SV); 2) དད་​པ་​ལོག་​པ། perverse faith or unbelief: ཚོད་​ལྟའི་​དུས་​སུ་​དད་​པ་​ལོག་​པ་​རྣམས་​ཡིན་​ནོ། in the time of testing they are faithless (Lk. 8:13), དད་​པ་​ལོག་​འཇུག་​པ། to enter into unbelief or sin (Mt. 18:6).

  2. མོས་​པ།

    Biblical: faith, belief, trust: དཀོན་​མཆོག་​ལ་​མོས་​པའི་​སེམས། a mind that trusts in God; godly (1 Tim. 6:3 SV).

    Buddhist: 1) མོས་​པ། or belief is one of the fifty one factors making up mental consciousness (KBT 14); 2) a wish or mental inclination: མོས་​པ་​སྣ་​ཚོགས་​མཁྱེན་​པའི་​སྟོབས། power of knowing various mental inclinations (KBT 76), རང་​གི་​མོས་​པ་​མང་​བའི་​རྒྱུ། because of my many wishes (UCO 150); 3) esteem or trust: འདུལ་​བ་​ལ་​མོས་​པ། esteem for the Vinaya scriptures (TRC 152), དད་​མོས། devotion; 4) generated or believed in by the mind: རང་​གི་​ཡིད་​ངོར་​མོས་​པའི་​དམིགས་​རྟེན། a meditative object that is mentally imagined (TRC 199); 5) religion, faith: མོས་​པ་​འདྲ་​མིན་​སྣ་​ཚོགས། various faiths or religions (DLP 20).
