Levite

  1. ལེ་​ཝི་​པ།

    Biblical: a member of the tribe of Levi: ལེ་​ཝི་​པ་​ཡོ་​སེབ། the Levite Joseph (Acts 4:36), ལེ་​ཝིའི་​བླ་​བརྒྱུད། the Levitical priesthood (Heb. 7:11), ལེ་​ཝི་​པའི་​བླ་​མའི་​བརྒྱུད། the Levitical priesthood (Heb. 7:11 SV).

  2. མཆོད་​གཡོག་​པ།

    [lit. offering + servant]

    Biblical: one who serves in the temple; a Levite: བླ་​མ་​དང་​མཆོད་​གཡོག་​པ། priests and Levites (John 1:19), མཆོད་​གཡོག་​ཅིག་​ས་​ཆ་​དེར་​བསླེབས་​པས། when a Levite arrived (Luke 10:32).
