  1. གཡོག

    Biblical: 1) menservants: གཡོག་​པོ། male servant (Mt. 8:9), སློབ་​དཔོན་​ལས་​སློབ་​མ་​མི་​ཆེ། དཔོན་​པོ་​ལས་​གཡོག་​པོ་​མི་​ཆེ། a student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master (Mt. 10:24), མ་​ཤི་​ཀ་​ཡ་​ཧུ་​ད་​པ་​རྣམས་​ཀྱི་​གཡོག་​པོར་​གྱུར། Christ has become a servant of the Jews (Rom. 15:8); 2) maidservants: གཡོག་​མོ་​ཞིག a servant girl (Mt. 26:69), ང་​ནི་​གཙོ་​བོའི་​གཡོག་​མོ་​ཡིན། I am the Lord's servant (Lk. 1:38); 3) fellow servant: གཡོག་​གྲོགས་​ཤིག་​ཡིན། I am a fellow servant (Rev. 22:9).

    Buddhist: གཡོག་​པོ། is a helper, paid servant, or even employee (AMD) as distinct from a བྲན། or གཡོག་​བྲན། a slave: མཚམས་​གཡོག a "recluse-helper" or servant attending to the needs of a monk in solitary meditation (TRC 51), ནད་​གཡོག a nurse (TRC 76), འཁོར་​གཡོག attendants (TRC 259), དཔོན་​གཡོག master and servants (DPD), གཡོག་​པོའི་​ཐ་​མར་​འགྱུར་​བ། become the least of servants (TRC 259). The Bst. scriptures encourage offering of oneself to the Buddhas as a servant (MTB 48).

    Proverbs: ཁ་​བདེ་​པོ་​མི་​ཡི་​དཔོན་​པོ་​ཡིན། ལག་​པ་​བདེ་​པོ་​མི་​ཡི་​གཡོག་​པོ་​ཡི། the eloquent speaker is peoples' master and the skilled craftsman is peoples' servant (TQP 41).

  2. ཞབས་​ཕྱི།

    Biblical: servant: ངའི་​ཞབས་​ཕྱི་​དྲང་​པོ། my righteous servant (Is. 53:11), ཁྱེད་​ཚོའི་​དབུས་​སུ་​ཆེ་​ཤོས་​དེ་​ཁྱེད་​ཀྱི་​ཞབས་​ཕྱིར་​འགྱུར་​དགོས། the greatest among you will be your servant (Mt. 23:11), ཉིད་​ཀྱི་​ཞབས་​ཕྱི་​ཡེ་​ཤུ། his servant Jesus (Acts 3:13), བླ་​ན་​མེད་​པའི་​དཀོན་​མཆོག་​གི་​ཞབས་​ཕྱི། servants of the Most High God (Acts 16:17), ཡེ་​ཤུ་​མ་​ཤི་​ཀའི་​ཞབས་​ཕྱི་​པའུ་​ལུ། Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus (Rom. 1:1).

  3. འབངས།

    Biblical: servant: དཀོན་​མཆོག་​གི་​འབངས་​བྱོས་​ཤིག live as servants of God (1 Pet. 2:16), ཁོང་​གི་​འབངས་​རྣམས་​ཀྱིས་​བསྙེན་​བཀུར་​བྱེད་​པ། his servants will serve him (Rev. 22:3).

    Buddhist: 1) servant, serf: ལྷ་​འབངས། a temple servant; 2) a subject; one under the authority of a king: རྗེ་​འབངས། king and subjects (TRC 136), དཔོན་​འབངས། nobility and subjects (KPU 10), མངའ་​འབངས། or ཆབ་​འབངས། citizens.
