advocate

  1. རོགས་​མཛད་​མཁན།

    [help + do + person]

    Biblical: a helper: གལ་​ཏེ་​སྡིག་​པ་​བྱེད་​ན། ཡབ་​ཀྱི་​དྲུང་​དུ་​རོགས་​མཛད་​མཁན་​ཡེ་​ཤུ་​མ་​ཤི་​ཀ་​ཐུགས་​དྲང་​པོ་​ལགས་​པ་​དེ་​བཞུགས་​ཡོད། if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One (1 Jn. 2:1).

  2. ངོ་​ཆེན་​མཛད་​མཁན།

    [lit. face + big + make + person]

    Biblical: an advocate, one who represents the interests of another: ཡབ་​ཀྱི་​དྲུང་​དུ་​ངོ་​ཆེན་​མཛད་​མཁན་​ཞིག་​ཡོད། we have an advocate in the presence of the Father (1 Jn. 2:1 SV).

  3. ཆ་​དཔང་​།

    Biblical: a witness in a legal dispute: མཐོ་​རིས་​ནང་​ན་​ང་​ཡི་​ཆ་​དཔང་​བཞུགས། even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high (Job 16:19).

  4. ཞུ་​སྣ།

    Biblical: interceding before a higher authority on behalf of someone else: ཞུ་​སྣ་​མཛད་​ཅིང་​རྒྱུན་​དུ་​བཞུགས་​པ། He always lives to intercede for them (Heb. 7:25), [same as ཞུ་​བརྒྱུད།].
