advocate

  1. rogs mdzad mkhan/ 

    [help + do + person]

    Biblical: a helper: gal te sdig pa byed na/,,yab kyi drung du rogs mdzad mkhan ye shu ma shi ka thugs drang po lags pa de bzhugs yod/  if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One (1 Jn. 2:1).

  2. ngo chen mdzad mkhan/ 

    [lit. face + big + make + person]

    Biblical: an advocate, one who represents the interests of another: yab kyi drung du ngo chen mdzad mkhan zhig yod/  we have an advocate in the presence of the Father (1 Jn. 2:1 SV).

  3. cha dpang / 

    Biblical: a witness in a legal dispute: mtho ris nang na nga yi cha dpang bzhugs/  even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high (Job 16:19).

  4. zhu sna/ 

    Biblical: interceding before a higher authority on behalf of someone else: zhu sna mdzad cing rgyun du bzhugs pa/  He always lives to intercede for them (Heb. 7:25), [same as zhu brgyud/ ].
