tabernacle

  1. གུར་​མཆོག

    [lit. tent + perfect]

    Biblical: tabernacle; the portable sanctuary in which God met with the Israelites: གུར་​མཆོག་​སྒྲེང་​བར་​དགོས། set up the tabernacle (Ex. 40:2), དཔང་​པོའི་​གུར་​མཆོག the tabernacle of the Testimony (Acts 7:44), གུར་​མཆོག་​དངོས་​མ། the true tabernacle (Heb. 8:2).

  2. སྤྱིལ་​བུའི་​དུས་​ཆེན།

    [lit. hut + festival]

    Biblical: the week-long harvest festival of the Jews; during which the people dwelt in huts or "tabernacles": ཡ་​ཧུ་​ད་​པའི་​སྤྱིལ་​བུའི་​དུས་​ཆེན་​ཉེ་​བས། the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near (Jn. 7:2).
